Often the simplest things are the best! Our lives are really busy so we need to organize our kitchens and cooking.  This is a great recipe if guests should arrive unexpectedly and one wants to let them eat through their eyes.  It is difficult sometimes to find the right fruit to accompany a meal, but these bananas are not only tasty, they are beautiful to look at as well and very nutritional.  They have a high vitamin count and are full of potassium.  The fresh blueberries have flavoids and the almonds have magnesium.  These ingredients have prebiotics and aid the intestinal tract.

Skewered bananas with almonds and blueberries

Ingredients for 6 skewers:

2 big bananas

80 gm. blueberries

30 gm. whole almonds

lemon juice from one lemon

1/2 teaspoon brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon poppy seeds (optional)

wooden skewers or large toothpicks


Cut the bananas into 1 cm. slices and sprinkle with lemon juice.  Blend the almonds

so that they are bigger pieces than flour.  Add sugar and poppy seeds.  Put the banana slices in this mixture so that all sides are covered. Put two blueberries onto the skewer and then add a banana slice. If you like, you can add more blueberries or bananas on the same skewer.
